The La Crosse Area Development Corporation (LADCO) serves as the initial contact for business and industry in the La Crosse Area. LADCO's mission focuses on a "triad of development": attraction of business, retention of business and industry, and co-management of the Coulee Region Business Center, small business incubator.
LADCO was founded in 1971 and James Hill has served as Executive Director since 1983. LADCO is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Current LADCO President is David Oelkers, Riverland Energy Cooperative. LADCO is dually funded by the public and private sectors with just over half of total funding coming from the private sector.
